Solid Hole Enhancements
Views
Mastercam 2026 redesigns the workflow for solid hole creation. This new design and additional features discussed below allow you more control and customization for holes.
In the previous release, hole creation was limited to the options on the function panel’s Basic tab, as seen in the following image.
In this release, the Hole function panel is organized into three tabs: Geometry Selection, Hole Style, and Advanced. The new features and functions on these tabs allow you to design different hole types with precision and control.
Create and Save Hole Configurations with the Hole Style tab
The new Hole Style tab offers an array of options that help you define your hole. These include Style, Type, and Hole Properties. Select from industry standard libraries or create a custom defined hole with the User defined mode. After you’ve defined your custom holes, you can save them to a User Library for future use.
Style options include Simple, Counterbore, Countersink, Taper, Threaded, and Custom.
Along with these Style selections, you can also define the Type and Size of holes created in Library mode. Specific options will vary depending on the hole Style you select.
While in Library mode, most Hole Properties are read-only fields. User defined holes enable more adjustments and greater customization in the Hole Properties section.
