The generic Fanuc Mill posts installed with Mastercam have been enhanced so they now support the CIMCO Probing add-on. While CIMCO Probing itself must still be purchased separately, the additional work of modifying the post to support it is no longer required.

  • The CIMCO Probing XML data is added to the end of the .pst file. Users or Mastercam Resellers who need to customize these settings can do so within the CIMCO Probing product and do not need to edit the XML directly.
  • All necessary processing logic, required variables, and CIMCO-related postblocks have been implemented and do not need to be edited. Users should not make any changes to this content.

Refer to your CIMCO Probing documentation for more information about using the add-on.

The CIMCO Probing support complements the support for Renishaw’s Productivity+ add-on, which is included with Mastercam.

The following table summarizes which probing products are supported by some of our common Fanuc and Haas posts. All of these posts can be downloaded from Mastercam’s Tech Exchange. * indicates a chargeable post.

Haas Haas Generic Haas 3X Mill.pst X X

The CIMCO Probing XML data at the end of each Fanuc .pst file is configured by default for a Renishaw probe on a Fanuc 31i control. Other types of probes can be selected from inside the CIMCO Probing add-on. See your CIMCO documentation for specific information about supported probes and control models.
