Optimize Triangular Mesh Toolpaths
Views
A new enhancement to the Triangular Mesh operation in Multiaxis improves efficiency when machining by levels. This update reduces cycle time by optimizing the toolpath ordering and reducing retracts and links between regions for smoother motion and faster results.
When sorting operations, you have the option to machine by regions or levels depending on part geometry or tool configuration. Machining by levels ensures that all material at each level is removed before moving to the next feature. This strategy is beneficial when using shorter tools on more complex parts with many regions.
The updated strategy improves cycle time by reducing linking and sorting cuts efficiently. Instead of jumping from one region to the next to ensure that the levels have been machined, Mastercam will move to the next level of the region it is in before going back to other regions.
