Mastercam now lets you filter specific edge geometry from your toolpath motion. Filtering options include vertical edges, defined by the Direction on the Tool Axis Control page, and circular holes (planar, flat arc edges). Choose from the following strategies:

  • Exclude vertical edges (3 axis only): Ignores vertical edges based on the Direction setting on the Tool Axis Control page.

  • Exclude circular holes: Ignores planar, flat arc edges. Non-planar arcs are included.

  • Exclude both vertical and circular hole edges: Ignores both vertical edges based on the Direction setting on the Tool Axis Control page, and planar, flat arc edges.

  • Only vertical edges (3 axis only): Includes vertical edges based on the Direction setting on the Tool Axis Control page.

  • Only circular holes: Includes only planar, flat arc edges.

  • Both vertical and circular hole edges: Includes both vertical edges based on the Direction setting on the Tool Axis Control page and planar, flat arc edges

The new Edge filtering drop-down outlined.

This is useful for:

  • Including/excluding vertical edges that are automatically detected in 3-axis scenarios.

  • Including/excluding planar circular holes that are commonly deburred by Spot Drills or Chamfer Drills and are automatically detected in machining scenarios.
