Changes in Solid Selection

Mastercam 2025 updates solid selection to simplify choosing the correct type of entity. With Mastercam 2024, if you wanted to select an arc edge you needed to be careful that you did not select the arc center instead. This could happen because when you placed your mouse over the arc edge, the edge would highlight, but when you selected that edge, you were often actually selecting the arc’s center point. You needed to manipulate the mouse carefully to ensure that the edge-selection mouse pointer was showing rather than the arc-center pointer.

To correct this problem, in Mastercam 2025, if you want to select an arc center, you must click the arc center point or AutoCursor position. Having to select the center point explicitly ensures that clicking the arc edge selects the edge with no chance of accidentally selecting the arc center. When you hover over an arc now, the AutoCursor positions display to better indicate the locations for selection.
